The Stockings Were Hung

I haven't shown a close up picture of our stockings in a few years now, so I thought that I would revisit them again for you.  And show you the new one that was added this year.  This year we add baby Liam's to the family stockings.  Liam is a joy to behold, he wakes up with a huge smile on his face and lights up even the gloomiest day just by being him.  We love our baby Liam and we can't wait to watch him grow into an amazing man.  His Mother's stocking Nicola, hangs between her two precious sons Liam and Jaxon.  The rays of sunshine in our family.

I'm also posting pictures of my recent finishes.  Next year I have to resolve to post more often. :)  The first two are by Sharon Bennett of DaffyCat Designs.  This fine lady much to my enjoyment designs one of these gorgeous little deer each year....and I am only too happy to stitch them up and hang them proudly on my tree.   These two are Ribbon Reindeer and Xmas Tree Reindeer.   I still have to stitch up stocking reindeer and I will have that done before the year is up.

Next up is Mary's Sampler, the Sunday SAL that was posted by Paulette of Plum Street Samplings.  I love this design.....not sure how I am going to finish it yet, but I'm going to display this somehow in my house as well.  :)

My last finish update is Redbirds Rejoice by Blue Ribbon Designs from 2013 JCS Xmas issue, there are several more that I still want to stitch out of this on but time ran out....so I'll do them as time goes by. :)

And finally one of the finish of the ornaments that I finished this year.  I give you all HOPE....when I was down by the tree today it just struck me as being so pretty I thought I would share it with you.

Peace and Joy everyone!

Ready for Christmas!

The house is ready....the gifts are bagged. ( I don't wrap anymore)  and today I'm finishing up doing some finishing on ornies and baking some cookies and I'm all set.  But my chores for today and not things that "need" to be done, they are things that I "want" to do.  There's a big difference.
The Mr. & Mrs. ornament that is a little farther down is "our" ornament that we chose this year for our 10th Anniversary :)

I'll post my recent finishes tomorrow.

November's IHSW post

Oh what a great weekend for stitching!  It was cold and snowy on Saturday, so we hunkered down during the day and watched it blow in.  In the evening we did go out with friends for dinner and a couple of drinks, but during the day I was able to start a new project, do some baking and a little bit of tidying.  I really wish I had finished the ornament that I had started but I'll be able to finish that up this week.

I also stitched up the Plum Street Sampler section from this week.  A couple of crowns and a cross added this week, plus I improvised and corrected a mistake that was made in the chart.  I had already finished stitching the flower when I saw that there was a correction posted, but instead of frogging it all out, I improvised with some extra stitches, so mine is going to be a little different than what other's have stitched.  But I must say that I really love how it's looking, I was a little leery about my fabric choice at the beginning, but I have to say that I don't think that I could have chosen a better piece for it.

Then finally is Humboldt Coast, my Sunday SAL with Kati.  I thought I would get farther with this as well on Sunday but we ended up going out late Sunday afternoon and didn't get home until late evening, and then by then I didn't have any mojo.  So I was what I managed in the early afternoon.

This coming weekend is another hunting weekend, so after some shopping on Saturday it's going to be a stitchy weekend (and finishing  fingers-crossed).

The perfect house

I went to Michael's yesterday to get some stitching supplies and a couple of things for a tree topper that I want to make into a tree topper.  I have been doing some looking on pinterest and various places and saw that Christmas picks are an interesting way to top your trees.  I have been struggling for years with the top of my Stitching Tree and this year I have decided to decorate it with picks.  They were on for 50% off, plus there was a coupon for an additional 25% off your entire purchase including sales items, so off I went!  I pick up some great picks so we'll see how effective I can be with them come time to use them!

Then I was looking at this year's new Lemax pieces and I found the perfect one!!!  This one too 40% please the additional 25% so I got it!  Do you see what it is???  It's a needleshop!!!! How perfect!!!  I can hardly wait to see it on main street in my village.

This morning was the new release of the Mystery sampler from Plum Street Samplers.  More star, a flower and Mary's heart.  Love it!  This one took a better part of the day, but it's done and I'm looking forward to next week's section.

It's a holiday here tomorrow, Remembrance day, where we take the day to honour and remember our forces that so courageously served and still serve our country.

Christmas on my mind!

As it always is....and it's a long weekend this weekend....so I'll be doing some Christmas stitching.  And hopefully even some finishing of the ornies that need to be finished for my tree this year.  That's the plan anyway.

Speaking of ornies.  I was looking at the new releases of Hallmark ornaments for this year.  This Tinkerbell caught my eye and if I find it I'm going to get it!

Don't you love her?

Well Done Canada Post

I`ve known this for a little while now, but today I finally saw them and bought them.  Canada Post is celebrating cross stitch with their Christmas stamps this year!!!  How exciting, and how wonderful!  They are so pretty!  Thought I would share these shots with those of you that may not have seen them...or heard about them yet.

Here`s what they have brought out for regular, US and international stamps.
Aren`t they lovely?  I can hardly wait to do my Christmas cards!

A late finish

Well this year, as year's before, I have wanted to do more Halloween stitching and I never manage to do more than one per year.  So tradition holds and I was able to finish the cross stitching on 1 Halloween project this year.  This is Owl-O-Ween by Blackberry Lane Designs out of the 2013 JCS Halloween issue.

I was going to take a pic of the progress I made on Humboldt yesterday but I left my bag with my camera in it in my office, so I will have to take it tomorrow.

Hubby brought me home some "because I love you" flowers as well that I want to take a pic of too.   He's so perfect!!!!  :)

Ort Report

It's New Moon and it's ort report time.  I haven't done a proper ort report in months, so I have lots in my little tub right now.  I don't even know which projects are in there because it's been so long, so I've taken a picture of it all by itself.

Part 6 of Mary's sampler was released this morning, so I quickly stitched that up this morning.  A star and a shepherd added today. Looking forward to next Sunday's addition.

Hubby came home this afternoon, so there wasn't much stitching going on this afternoon.  Laundry, supper...some afternoon delight...wink-wink!

So tonight I will work a bit on Humboldt and see how far I get with that.

I have been perusing all my charts and have been drawn to the Prairie Schooler Santas as of late.  So many to choose from, so many to stitch, I want to do them all.  I know I won't but I would love too.  I would like to do at least a couple of them for my tree this year...so we'll see how it goes...and better yet....which ones.  Any favourites??

Perfect stitching day

Yes, it certainly was!  Snow falling all day.  Me sitting in my cozy chair by the window, sipping various beverages through-out the day and stitching.

With Lulu at my feet and the stitching in hand, I spent the most wonderful day.  Hubby away on a hunting weekend, so it was jammies all day.  Nothing to do, nowhere to go but stitch and relax.

It's November already?

Can you believe that it's November already??  I can't!!!  This year went by so fast!  the summer was like a blink,  fall is just as quick!  We are setting back the clocks this weekend (this I am NOT upset about) I can use that extra hour in the morning.  It is so dark at 5:30 in the morning it feels like it's the middle of the night!  Not that it's going to be much different an hour later, but still....it'll be closer to daybreak.

Hunting season has arrived at our house.  which means that I will become a hunting widow...which is not bad...because that's when I become a stitching goddess!  LOL  Hubby has already left for the weekend so that leave me and Mom and Lulu.  Yea...girls weekend...lots of stitching for me.  My plans for tonight....taking a nice long bubble bath and then stitching until midnight!  aaaahhhhh  heaven!

So yesterday was Halloween at the clinic, it was so much fun.  It was nice because almost everyone dressed up this year.  (must be new management...tee hee hee)  I was the Queen of Hearts this year, Shelley was the Mad Hatter, and Ashley was Alice.  We were definitely a hit, lots of patients asked us to pose together so they could take pics.

I've had a finish and some progress pics to show.  There's a Halloween piece that I was working on but it didn't get finished in time.  I am going to finish cross stitching it this weekend though and I'll post that when it's done.  I finished another Dimensions ornament Ho Ho Ho.  Love the way it turned out.  I have to one weekend this month do a finishing weekend as well, so that all these ornaments will make it to my tree this year.  I also started and am participating in Plum Street Samplers Sunday Mystery sampler...called Mary's Sampler 2.  There are two versions, 1 and 2...2 having more detail. It turns out to be a nice little morning stitch on Sunday mornings and then I move on to Humboldt Coast, which I haven't worked on for a few Sunday's but I did manage this past Sunday.

So that's it....That's about as caught up as I'm going to be today.....have a great Friday everyone!
